He should strip fitter from that outing and will take beating against this line up. DANGER: CYCLONE JAKE (7) got too far back from the handicap of 20m when a handy finishing fifth in the same race last week and appears to be much better placed under the mobile conditions. He finished third behind Keystone Del in a very fast mile of 1.54.9 three starts back so he must be respected. OTHERS: TOPNOTCH DREAM (2) is trotting in peak form and finished quickly from midfield on the markers when she scored over DOUBLE BUNDY (6) last week. She is well drawn again and is worth thought on an each way basis. OUR SHOE IN (8) created a big impression when he first came across from Western Australia but he has made a few mistakes recently. The return to the mobile start is an advantage and he could improve on his numerical form. DEALORNODEAL (5) and DOUBLE BUNDY (6) are both worth thought in multiple combinations. She finished hard behind the in-form pacer Our El Nino last outing and she should be running to the line strongly again. DANGER: BAINFEILD WASHINGTON (10) finished a close third behind Seel N Print in a mile of 1.54.3 then followed with a seventh behind Glengowan when taking on the open class last week. She had little luck in the straight and probably should have finished a little closer last time so she is worth an investment. OTHERS: RUPEENO CULLEN (3) is a fast mare that worked hard to lead and fought on strongly for third behind My Temudjin in a mile of 1.52.6 last week. She finished well from off the pace when second prior and is ready to break through for a win. GIGGLING GIRL (4) possesses a good turn of speed and is racing well enough to figure in the finish. MISS TRICKIN LOMBO (6) is a handy former Victorian mare that makes her debut for trainer Belinda McCarthy and won a recent Menangle trial in a mile of 1.55.5 so she must be kept safe. SELECTIONS: CHARADANAE (7), Bainfeild Washington (10), Rupeeno Cullen (3), Giggling Girl (4) SUGGESTED BET: CHARDANAE (7) each way EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 3,7,10/ 3,4,6,7,10/ field (Cost $20, which gives 20.83%) 5 Pace 4.33 1609m. $12000. He has the fast beginner STIRLING POINT (2) drawn on his inside but he should have too much pace and is a good chance of leading throughout. DANGER: STIRLING POINT (2) was aggressively driven in the early stages then was shuffled back in the field mid-race when a creditable fourth behind My Temudjin last week. He was unplaced in the Bohemia Crystal FFA (Group 1) prior so he looks to be better placed against this opposition. OTHERS: THE BIG MACH (7) worked out of the gate to lead, eventually took a trail and dropped out in the latter stages when ninth last outing. His past two efforts have been in a heat of the Inter Dominion and in the Bohemia Crystal FFA so he is likely to find this assignment to be more suitable. SEEL N PRINT (3) disappointed last week but he was placed at his four starts prior including a win in a 1.54.3 mile so he is worth another chance. SELECTIONS: BETTOR BET BLACK (6), Stirling Point (2), The Big Mach (7), Seel N Print (3) SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR BET BLACK (6) to win EXOTIC BET: Flexi Boxed Trifecta 2,3,6,7 (Cost $20, which gives 83.33%) 6 Pace 5.13 2300m. $12000. He steps up in class for this assignment but he finished off in a slick final half of 55.2 seconds at his latest victory so he can take the next step forward. DANGER: WALTZING WITH CULLEN (4) is a smart 4yo pacer that finished fourth in a heat of the New South Wales Derby last season. He hasn't raced since May but he boasts a fine record and won a recent trial at Fairfield so he should prove hard to beat if he is somewhere near his peak form. OTHERS: OUR NANCY MILES (2) and HERBIES DREAM (3) both were competitive against strong opposition in New Zealand and are capable of figuring in the finish here. HERBIES DREAM (3) struck trouble and made up many lengths first up at Penrith and OUR NANCY MILES (2) galloped when making a forward move at Menangle on her local debut. PRINCE KAI (5) and TOR RILEY (6) are both capable of showing up without surprising. He was running the race of his life in the Inter Dominion Final before contacting a sulky wheel, breaking stride and losing his chance at the 150m. This race is much easier and he is clearly the horse to beat. DANGER: LOUS LAD (7) has had a win and a second from two attempts under the standing start conditions and is maintaining a consistent form line. He probably had his chance to finish closer when fourth in the Bohemia Crystal FFA but he finished strongly for third in the Media Cup prior. OTHERS: SUAVE STUEY LOMBO (3) is a former Victorian pacer that lacks standing start experience but is very strong and likes to race on the pace. He hasn't started since a close second at Melton in September but he won a recent standing start trial at Fairfield so he warrants consideration. BABY BLING (8) had no luck in the Ladyship Mile and recorded a slick mile of 1.52.0 when she won the Teeny Teeny Stakes three starts back. She is stepping up to the open class here but she is a very good mare and is not to be underestimated. He led out then took a trail when he scored in a 1.54.9 mile two starts back then was left stranded without cover from the bell and went down fighting last week. He is a fast beginner from the mobile and is suited over the sprint trip so he must be respected. DANGER: ARVEE BROMAC (5) got a long way back from a wide draw and made ground without threatening when fifth last week. His effort for second behind My Temudjin (won again since) on February 16 was excellent and he is a definite winning chance here. OTHERS: LENNYS IN HEAVEN (2) is a fast beginner from the mobile and should be suited under these conditions. He led and seemingly had his chance for fourth last week but the drop back in distance is an advantage. PEGLEG WEBB (4) has been driven aggressively at his past two attempts and has performed well on each occasion. He is meeting a similar line up compared to last week's third so he is worth thought on an each way basis. MAJOR ESCAPE (7) will appreciate a drop in class for this assignment and NEW REVENUE (8), which disappointed last outing, is capable of a better performance. SELECTIONS: EMPEROR MONTANA (6), Arvee Bromac (5), Lennys In Heaven (2), Pegleg Webb (4) SUGGESTED BET: EMPEROR MONTANA (6) to win EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 2,5,6/ 2,5,6/ 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10 (Cost $20, which gives 55.55%) Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 TROTS TODAY OTHERS: NIGHT AFFAIR (6) led when a close third here two starts back, then handed up and got within two metres of MISTER SHEEDY (13) here last week. He has gate speed, should settle somewhere near the lead, and is likely to be in the finish. Each way chances to consistent mare ILLAWONG GERALDINE (1), who had the run of the race when second to CHARLIE MACHSHEEN (3) last week; SUMMER ACE (4), who ran a big race when wide and fifth in his heat; AMAJORJO (7), who sat in the breeze in that 1:52 mile rate when third to MISTER SHEEDY (13); and TEO ENTEO (10), an honest sit/sprinter who can finish by these if they work too hard. RATINGS:3/13/1,6/10/4,7/8. SUGGESTED BET: CHARLIE MACHSHEEN (3) to win. Race 5 tab.com.au Pace 7.10 TOP PICK: WASHMEPOCKETS NZ (2) did a power of work in the breeze when winning a similar affair to this here a fortnight ago, then ran a big race from his wide second line draw when a close third last week here to Cut For An Ace. He's in great form and gets his best alley for some time. DANGER: COMPOSED (1) hasn't won for seven months but wasn't disgraced when fourth in last weekend's Wangaratta Cup and will get a soft trip either in front or behind whatever leads. OTHERS: TOULOUSE LAUTREC NZ (10) was placed here and in the Charlton Cup before leading all the way in 1:53.1 for the sprint trip here last week and again has claims despite the wide alley. WARTIME SWEETHEART NZ (8) has finished close up in recent strong efforts and this time from the trail behind his stablemate and likely leader COMPOSED (1), is a possible sprint lane threat. Place chances at least to POCKET BOY NZ (4), JUKEBOX MUSIC (5), ONEDIN HUSTLER NZ (6), CUT FOR AN ACE (7) and BOB DILINGER (9). RATINGS:2/1/8,10/4,5,6,7,9. SUGGESTED BET: WASHMEPOCKETS NZ (2) to win. Race 6 HBV Jodies Babe 7.40 TOP PICK: SA mare REPELEM (4) has won 35 of her 59 starts and been most impressive in a couple of recent runs since coming here. A gallant second to the impressive Gamblers Rustler here two starts back, she had the run of the race and out-finished All I Can Be at Geelong last weekend and looks nicely suited and graded in mares company. DANGER: BLUCOLLA TIGERPIE (11) won classic races at Hobart and at Menangle before a gallant third in the Ladyship Cup to Pembrook Caesar here in 1:53 for this trip before not running up to expectations when a battling sixth in the Ladyship Mile at Menangle a fortnight ago. This race looks a lot easier and if at her best, she'll be hard to hold out. OTHERS: TARA TOPLADY NZ (5) was a regulation winner of races at Geelong and Hamilton before taking the trail behind and just failing to pick up THE MIDNIGHT REIGN NZ (8) here last time, and she looks nicely suited against these. THE MIDNIGHT REIGN NZ (8) followed that victory with a luckless effort here last week and looks a certain contender here as do BEACH MELODY (6), who didn't have much go her way in last week's Wangaratta Cup, and NATIONAL GALLERY NZ (10), who's been competitive at the top level for most of her career. DUNGEON QUEEN (3) is another handy SA visitor who was badly held up here last time and looks one for those who like backing a rougie. RATINGS:4/11/5,8/6,9/3/7. SUGGESTED BET: REPELEM (4) to win, and something each way DUNGEON QUEEN (3). Race 7 Aust Trotting Grand Prix 8.10 TOP PICK: This race for Australasia's top squaregaiters looks a wide open affair. Top Kiwi SOVEREIGNTY NZ (8), who ran third in the Inter Dom Trotters Final here last season, had a win over My Escapee and placings behind STIG NZ (10) at home before running second in the Glenferrie Farm Challenge at Menangle a fortnight ago where he should have won but for driver error. Having his first start for eight weeks in that race, he left the gate quickly to grab a trail behind the bold going THE FIERY GINGA NZ (1) but amazingly came away from the pegs in the back straight and was shuffled back while Keystone Del, who took his position behind the leader won the race with SOVEREIGNTY NZ (8) flying home late for second. This time he gets a chance to again position behind THE FIERY GINGA NZ (1) and with no bad luck, can run by these via the sprint lane. DANGER: VULCAN NZ (5) finished well from the rear when third in the Glenferrie Challenge, then returned to winning form with his all the way victory here last week in the Knight Pistol. With a couple of speedsters drawn inside him there's little chance of him leading this time but this fellow is just as good from behind and will be strong at the finish. OTHERS: STIG NZ (10) hit these shores with a hat trick of wins to his credit over the likes of My Escapee, I Can Doosit, THE FIERY GINGA NZ (1) and SOVEREIGNTY NZ (8), but made a mistake after moving to the breeze mid-race in the Glenferrie Farm Challenge. An odds-on favourite here last week in the Knight Pistol, he was caught three wide and dropped out to be well beaten and from this awkward second line alley. On his latest two runs, it's hard to see any reason to be on him but that being said, he's an outstanding horse when right and shouldn't be written off. I DIDN'T DO IT (3) is arguably Australia's best squaregaiter. He led all the way to beat I Can Doosit in the Cochran Cup here a month ago, then was unable to cross THE FIERY GINGA NZ (1) in the Glenferrie Farm Challenge at Menangle last time, sat mid-field and made an untimely mistake. Jodi Quinlan is sure to have a crack at crossing the pole marker and if he does, he'll be hard to run down - if he doesn't, is still in with a chance. ELEGANT IMAGE (12) flashed home from the rear after an early mistake when third to VULCAN NZ (5) here last week and although drawn awkwardly, this fellow has the class to out-finish them. Australian Trotters Championship winner MISTER ZION NZ (2) hasn't been seen to advantage from awkward draws in three runs since but, a strong stayer, he'll be close enough this time to run by them. Bold front runner THE FIERY GINGA NZ (1) led when fourth in the Glenferrie Farm Challenge at Menangle, then was wide to the breeze from the outside of the second line when a distant fourth here last week. The likely leader, he'll run a bold race. Chances also to highly talented mare ALEPPO MIDAS (6), and EARL OF MOT NZ (9), who was runner up to ALEPPO MIDAS (6) here, then scored well over this trip before a solid second to VULCAN NZ (5) last week. MY HIGH EXPECTATIONS USA (13) is in hot form but needs luck against these from the extreme alley. RATINGS:8/3,5,10/2,12/1/6,9/13. SUGGESTED BET: Each way SOVEREIGNTY NZ (8). Race 8 Ballan Football & Netball 8.40 TOP PICK: GAMBLERS RUSTLER (11) is a former Tasmanian who worked hard to the breeze and finished off in a blistering 26.9 when beating Repelem here three weeks ago at his first Victorian run, then was badly held up in the straight when favourite here a fortnight ago. He draws awkwardly but so do his main rivals and he can make his own luck here. DANGER: MARK DENNIS NZ (9) was hammered in the lead when a gallant and close fourth to Cut For An Ace in a fast middle distance affair last week and from the trailing alley, should sit just off the pace and run home strongly. OTHERS: NATIONAL SERVICE (7) is a handy sit/sprinter who finished well for back-to- back placings here before having no luck at his latest run. Watch for his flying finish wide out in the home straight. RENAISSANCE MAN (5) is a former top youngster who mixes his form these days. He worked hard to lead when cut down late by NATIONAL SERVICE (7) here back in January, then was caught wide in a race at Ballarat and is resuming from a break of seven weeks. Four only winning chances, and not much between them. RATINGS:11/9/5,7/1. SUGGESTED BET: GAMBLERS RUSTLER (11) to win. Race 9 Benstud Youthful Stakes 9.10 TOP PICK: FON DESIGN (2) impressed when a heavily backed favourite on debut in the Sapling Stakes here three weeks ago, where he made an early mistake, then recovered to sit in the breeze when cut down late by TUSCAN BREEZE NZ (7), who'd trailed him. She's since trialled impressively here. DANGER: DESIRING BELLA (1) led when third in the Sapling at her second start, has also trialled well since and will be prominent here from the pole. OTHERS: TUSCAN BREEZE NZ (7) is two for two on this circuit when following a wide to the lead success with her Sapling Stakes effort but the wide draw makes it a little harder this time. KISS KENNY (8) beat TUSCAN BREEZE NZ (7) at Geelong early last month, then ran third and sixth respectively in heat and final of the Pink Bonnet at Menangle. She'll be prominent here from the nice trailing alley. TREZIA SPRINGFIELD (9) won at Maryborough three weeks ago at her only start and will be further improved for that effort but the time was slow in that victory and it's hard to know just how much talent she possesses. First starter DOUGS COURAGE (4) (Courage Under Fire ñ Winsome Glory) is a Geoff Webster trained filly who bears watching ñ the other debutante STORMY LECTURE (5), a Glenn Douglas trained Art Major filly, hasn't really flattered at the trials. RATINGS:2/1,7,8/4?9? SUGGESTED BET: FON DESIGN (2) to win. Race 10 Aldebaran Park Trot Hcp 9.40 TOP PICK: A terrific trotters race for some up-and-comers, none of them more so than last season's 3YO standout ALDEBARAN SHADES NZ (14). He was placed in the Victoria Derby and ran fourth in the Breeders Crown, then was first up for six months when storming home from this mark to beat winner since Waikare Aristocrat at Shepparton a fortnight ago. DANGER: TENDAHO (12) won four on end beating hot opposition before making a mistake in a race at Geelong, then he made late ground for third in a 57.7 last half behind Waikare Aristocrat here last week. OTHERS: DUKE OF THE MOMENT NZ (7) looked good when beating Jarvsofaks first up in Australia in a heat of the Tontine at Hamilton, then sat in the breeze when second to that fellow in the final, and Jarvsofaks has won again since. He has each way claims along with LOVEYOUGOODBOY (9), who's put up some good recent runs here; and MISTER SCORCHER (11), who meets ABBOTSHALL NZ (13) ten metres better for a narrow defeat by that fellow at Kilmore. RATINGS:14/12/7/9/11/13/2,6. SUGGESTED BET: ALDEBARAN SHADES NZ (14) to win. Race 11 Cammaroto Poultry 4YO Pace 10.10 TOP PICK: REAL BONUS (8) easily beat the handy Ashira Bromac at Shepparton, then worked hard and wide in the last circuit when beaten a length into third place behind La Machane in a near track record 1:54.6 at Geelong last time and she'll be prominent as the only trailer who'll grab a nice spot just off the pace. DANGER: BLACK CAPRICE (6) won four races last season, was second up from a spell when leading all the way at Kilmore last week and will be further improved. OTHERS: ALTA TEARAWAY NZ (4) flashed home from the rear to score here a fortnight ago before doing his best work in the closing stages when fourth in the final of that affair here last week and gets his best draw for some time. ROYAL HUSTLER (1) impressed in a Shepparton win four starts back before finding trouble at his latest three outings. He'll run a bold race this time from a rare decent alley. STORMED OUT (3), ELJULIO (5) and MADAM POM POM NZ (7) should also be strong contenders. RATINGS:8/6/4/1/3,5,7. SUGGESTED BET: REAL BONUS (8) to win. Race 12 VHRSC 3YO Pace 10.42 TOP PICK: TIMESEEL (2) led all the way at Bendigo before running fourth in a Vic. Derby heat and down the track finish in the final. He returns from a good alley off a break of six weeks and will be hard to beat. DANGER: MAJORLOOK (1) (Art Major ñ Classic Rain) is an Ian Montgomery trained well related colt who's won two recent Shepparton trials by a total of 45 metres, the latest when finishing off in a blistering 55.1, and he'll be mighty hard to beat if he can reproduce those efforts. OTHERS: ECHEVERIA (7) was runner up to Guaranteed in the Vic. Sires Classic here in December, then won the SA St Leger and finished third in the SA Derby behind Flaming Flutter and Lennytheshark. He hasn't started since finishing fifth in a Vic. Derby heat seven weeks ago but grades extremely well against these. The other quartet have their fair share of ability as well, but not as much as the top three picks. RATINGS:2/1?7/6/5/3,4. SUGGESTED BET: Trifecta 1, 2 and 7 to win and run second, the field for third. $30 for $1. Tabcorp Park Melton continued TODAY Menangle Sprint Lane: No Daily Double: 5, 7 Quaddie: 4, 5, 6, 7.
