He draws to be prominent throughout once more tonight and looks the testing material in an open contest. DANGER: MISTER INDEPENDENT (6) was slow to begin at Cranbourne last time and did a good job in the end to finish second to Mister Gunsen and after three goes this time in he should be at the peak of his powers. Expect him to push forward, race handy and be hard to hold out. OTHERS: ATEGO LILLY (12) has been placed at her past two from behind the strands off big handicaps and she should appreciate the return to the mobile. She should be coming at them late along with KYVALLEY CASTLE (11) who trialled well at Shepparton last Thursday night to prepare him for this. SONOFPACO (9) and SOLAR FLASH (7) are the next best. He resumes from a short break tonight without the benefit of a trial and draws the car park but if he produces somewhere near his best fresh they probably won't beat him. DANGER: ROGUES REWARD (9) is a Glenn Douglas-trained debutante who won a Bendigo trial 9 days ago in reasonable fashion and is to be kept safe first up from the awkward draw. OTHERS: THE SYSTEM VILLAGE (6) ran his best race to date when second to Partnersinvancelot at Maryborough last Wednesday and has an each way show along on that effort along with OUR FABIOLLA (3). PROSPEROUS LOMBO (12), EYREHART (1) and VIVA COURAGE (2) can place. He gets the ace alley tonight, should lead without too much hassle and be mighty hard to gun down. DANGER: ROGERS PASSION (5) is a well above average filly who comes off a well-deserved victory at Melton in HBV Trackbred Classic where she beat some classy ones via the passing lane in fast time. She has an awkward draw to contend with this time around and will have to do some work in the run but she is sure to make her presence felt. OTHERS: OUR SUMMER WIND (3) will find this harder than his latest Melton success last Thursday but he looks handy and is given an upset chance with place hopes going to REIGN OF PAIN (6), OUR WARWICK LAD (7) and ITSALLABOUTEX (4). RATINGS:1/5/3/6/7/4/2 SUGGESTED BET: DOOMED (1) to win 4 GHRC On Facebook 8.00 1609m. $5000. DANGER: LIERRE NOIR (5) has been a little hard to catch this campaign but when she puts her best hoof forward she is pretty darn good, as evidenced by victories over quality fillies Rogers Passion and Im Smouldering at Melton last month. Things didn't work out for her here last start when down the track behind Fairest One Youare as a hot favourite and she is worthy of another chance. OTHERS: SHESALLYANK (9) has been gallant in defeat behind Classic Bliss and Miz Lulabell Lombo at her past two and will be a force in this from her nice trailing draw with claims also given to the resuming and talented JILLIBY DAPHNE (2). ITHAPPENSTOBEAMETRO (3), CHASING CHELSEA (8) and REITA PARKER (4) have place prospects. RATINGS:6/5/9/2/3/8/4/7/1 SUGGESTED BET: LADY PATTI (6) to win 5 Next Meeting 27/3 8.30 2100m. $5000. DANGER: BLAZEAWAY MACRAY (4) hasn't really appreciated being locked away on the pegs at her past two here and will relish the return to the front line so she can race out in the open. She will be prominent throughout and a big threat to HOAGY BROMAC (2). OTHERS: MINTI CHOICE (9) has been a model of consistency this time in and will be hard to hold out in this from his nice trailing draw. AMAZING KANO (12), REVIVALIST (10), ACTION ROYALE (7), BLACK AND YELLOW (1), OUR HORIZON (5) and JILLIBY LING (8) are given place hopes. He draws widely here and will have to do the work but he looks up to the challenge. DANGER: QUADENTATE (5) is a talented colt who has won 3 from 7 to date and he was tuned up for this by winning a Melton trial two weeks back in comfortable fashion., He will be running the gate looking for a forward position and will take holding out first up. OTHERS: DAM LUCKY (1) worked to the lead at Melton last Thursday and was never really troubled thereafter to get the cash and from the ace alley tonight he looms as the upset material. SPORTY MAC (2) and FLAXTON FILLY (4) can place. RATINGS:7/5/1/2/4/6/10/3/12/8/11 SUGGESTED BET: HAYES AND KYDD (7) to win 7 D. Withington Pace 9.30 2100m. $5000. She will be improved by that outing, draws to get a nice run through and is the yardstick in a race of some depth. DANGER: LA PUCELLE (11) is a promising mare on the way up and tonight she is in search of her third win on the bounce after mowing down Hoagy Bromac here two back and using the passing lane to hold off Ashira Bromac at Kilmore. This is her toughest test to date but she looks ready to take the next step. OTHERS: ILLAWONG KATH (2) resumes from a 5-month break tonight off the back of a reasonable trial effort at Melton two weeks back when 26m behind OUR CRIME OF PASSION (10) and from the ideal draw she should acquit herself well first up. ASHIRA BROMAC (4) looks the other main winning chance with a rough show given to JILLIBY ABLETT (12) first up. SHIFTING SAND (5), KURAHAUPO QUIN (6), MARIO FENECH (8), GUMDROPS (3) and LATOYA LASS (1) can snare some minor money. He will relish the drop back in grade tonight and is clearly the one to beat. DANGER: REAL CHARACTER (7) just failed to reel in Young Modern first up at Yarra Valley before going wire-to-wire here 12 days ago in good time and this talented Real Desire looms as the main threat to PRESIDENTIALSECRET (6). OTHERS: BESPOKE ARTIST (2) is a David Aiken-prepared son of Modern Art having his first start tonight and he should be around the mark going by his recent trial victories at Shepparton. SOMEDREAMSOMEWHERE (8) finished second to smart mare Illawong Sister Styx from behind the strands at his latest trial appearance at Cranbourne 10 days ago and appears to have his share of talent so keep him safe along with the remaining debutante HECTORJAYJAY (3) who won a Cranbourne trial in 2:03.4 for the mile recently. By Legends Mile winner and Miracle Mile fourth placegetter It Is I out of 14-time winner Shanna Golden, Kilmainham was bred to be a pacing superstar. Like so many before her, she was better suited to squaregaiting and tonight looks to build on her moderate early record of two wins from 18 starts. Harness Racing Victoria form expert Michael Polster has marked Kilmainham at $19 in the Bartlett's Environment Trot, but she is a winning chance. Sunset Tour is favourite at $3.50 while Mister Independent ($4), Atego Lilly ($6) and Kyvalley Castle ($7) are the others at single- figure quotes. Smooth transition DAYLIGHT Dan completed his transition from short-course specialist to country cup winner in the Boort Pacing Cup on Sunday afternoon. Five of Daylight Dan's seven wins had been at distances of 1790m or shorter, but he proved his versatility with a pillar-to-post win in the 2612m feature. The other big winner was Theywannacallmesue in the Boort Trotters Cup at $38.10. Beautifully driven by Australian Young Drivers Championship representative Rebecca Bartley, Theywannacallmesue defeated Enjoy A Coldie for his first country cup success. Leading reinsman Greg Sugars continued his terrific season, snagging a treble to move within seven wins of Chris Alford on the Victorian premiership table. Dreamit wildcard IMPRESSIVE last-start winner Dreamit has been offered a wildcard entry into Saturday night's Great Southern Star series at Melton's Tabcorp Park. After days of deliberation, Harness Racing Victoria's selection panel deemed that Belinda McCarthy's former Kiwi deserved a Great Southern Star spot despite not qualifying for the series. A terrific winner on his Aussie debut at Menangle over subsequent Knight Pistol and Grand Prix winner Vulcan, Dreamit was equally good winning the Pryde's EasiFeed Trotters Free-For-All at Melton. If the Great Southern Star field, released today, stays as is, there will be 12 Victorians, four NSW- trained trotters, three New Zealanders and a European. Another highlight of Saturday's program may be the Prince Of Speed, where Blitzthemcalder, Roy Hobbs and The Boss Man will battle for the first time. Punters get value THE TAB has seeded Friday night's Great Southern Star final with a First 4 Jackpot of $50,000. That should ensure a massive First 4 pool for Saturday night's feature, and with question marks over some of the series' biggest names, value could be on offer. Kiwi superstar Stig bounced back to form in the Australian Trotting Grand Prix but still looked uncomfortable in his third run on Australian soil. Australia's No.1 seed I Didn't Do It also looked below his best after leading at the weekend and will need sharp improvement.
