Herald Sun Form Guide : June 28th 2013
HERALDSUN.COM.AU FRIDAY, JUNE 28, 2013 39 + + FB123 C M Y K DHS 28-JUN-2013 PAGE 39 FIRST Solid option: Elite Elle returns to 1000m, a distance at which she has had two starts for two wins, and should prove hard to beat in race two. .com.au TODAY GEELONG P50 TONIGHT TABCORP PARK P43 TOMORROW MOONEE VALLEY P41 TOMORROW ROSEHILL P40 DOUBLE MR O'CEIRIN $1.90 Moonee Valley tomorrow, R5 No.1: Emerging stayer who won strongly last start and only rises 0.5kg from that win. COLLINGWOOD $1.30 The Magpies have won six straight against Port Adelaide going back to 2008 and won eight straight at AAMI Stadium dating back to 2006. I expect the Pies to win comfortably and they look a good one for the multi bets. MULTI ODDS: $2.47 MOONEE VALLEY TRACK: Dead (5) FIRST RACE: 12pm FEATURE AUSTRALIAN RACES 2.22pm: Dominant Handicap (2040m), Moonee Valley 3.05pm: Listed Glasshouse Stakes (1400m), Sunshine Coast 3.40pm: Listed Caloundra Cup (2400m), Sunshine Coast 4.15pm: Listed Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m, 3yo), Sunshine Coast COVERAGE: TV: Foxtel --- 519 Sky Racing 1, 521 Sky Racing World, 522 TVN. RADIO: Radio Sport National (927) WHO'S HOT TONY Vasil has had a great month. He trained four winners at the Swan Hill carnival, including the Swan Hill Cup with Under The Eiffel, and he followed that in the next week with city wins with The Bowler and Prince Harada. Vasil is likely to end the month in great style as he takes a powerful squad to Moonee Valley tomorrow with four good chances. They are UNDER THE LOUVRE (R1, No.2), ELITE ELLE (R2, No.1), DE FINE LAGO (R5, No.4) and UNDER THE EIFFEL (R6, No.1). Michael Manley HARNESS HOTSHOTS BORDER Control (right) is one of Australasia's most celebrated young pacers, but he returns to Victoria with a serious score to settle. Before becoming New Zealand's fastest pacer at Ashburton this month, Mark Purdon's son of Bettors Delight made his name during last year's Vicbred Super Series. He claimed wins in the heat and semi- final of the VSS before going down narrowly to Guaranteed in the final. Tonight he will resume hostilities with that pacer in the most anticipated of 12 VSS semi-finals at Tabcorp Park, Melton. Drawn in barrier three, Border Control should start a short-priced favourite to snare another semi-final before the $100,000 VSS final at Melton on Saturday week. HARNESS HOTLINE PAGE 45 TAB JACKPOTS TONIGHT will see the final week of the It's A Fourtune promotion at Tabcorp Park Melton, where TAB is guaranteeing $10,000 First 4 pools on every race. Melton's card tonight holds 12 races, with a potential $120,000 in guaranteed pools on offer. The first race jumps at 5.08pm. THE EARLY OIL 1 UNDER THE LOUVRE (2) bolted away from his rivals in the closing stages at Swan Hill at his debut to win by four lengths. Looks like he has a stack of potential. MAGNARO (1) sat wide but still looked likely to win this track and distance last start before Brand New Choice burst through to beat him. SHOGUN STAR (7) led and finished fourth in same race. MISS STEELE (9) was also sound when placed at her debut at Flemington. DENPASAR (8), for the Snowdens, resumes; she showed potential in her two starts in February. SUGGESTED BET: Under The Louvre the win. TAB FIXED ODDS MARKET MOVERS: Under The Louvre $4.80 into $2.90. 2 ELITE ELLE (1) returns to 1000m, a distance at which she has had two starts for two wins. Had to work hard last start from a wide draw in a rare disappointing run. HARD ROMP (5) broke through last start at Sandown on heavy track. Will enjoy fast speed in this. DAY PROCEDURE (2) is a track specialist resuming. IMPULSE BUY (3) wasn't far away at Flemington last start. SUGGESTED BET: Elite Elle the win. TAB FIXED ODDS MARKET MOVERS: Nil. 3 Though she won narrowly last start, SHE CAN SKATE (1) was again impressive. Tended to over-race in the lead down the Flemington straight, but still found enough to hold off the challenges. Has drawn barrier one here so can lead or take a sit just off. ROYAL SCANDAL (9) showed potential during summer and had form around some smart fillies. Smart OCTAVIA (2) also resumes after an excellent summer campaign. She is also a winner here. NADEEM LASS (6) finished strongly to win this track/distance last start. NELLA FANTASIA (7) is racing consistently. SUGGESTED BET: She Can Skate the win. TAB FIXED ODDS MARKET MOVERS: City Hall $17 into $15. 4 Chris Waller's PIPETTE (2) has stronger formlines than her rivals. She was stakes-placed at Hawkesbury and Scone before last start failure at Randwick, when she was slow to begin. Step up from 1400m to 1600m should suit. IMOTO (6) is better than last- start Flemington failure, where she over- raced. A 3kg claim from Patrick Moloney brings her in with 51kg. DAYITA (4) will be suited by step up to 1600m. SPIN THE BOTTLE (8) led and fought on for placing here last week. SUGGESTED BET: Pipette the win. TAB FIXED ODDS MARKET MOVERS: Rememba Howe $12 into $9; Danish Whiskey $13 into $11. 5 MR O'CEIRIN (1) strolled in this track and distance last start when second up. He rises only half a kilo on that performance and should dominate the race again. The horse he defeated last start, DE FINE LAGO (4), has run well at his four runs back from a long spell. It's hard to see him turning the tables. CONSTANT FORCE (3) ran on well for second at Flemington last week and is a winner this track/distance. Tough mare FRIDAY HUSSY (6) will enjoy weight drop. SUGGESTED BET: Mr O'Ceirin the win. TAB FIXED ODDS MARKET MOVERS: Constant Force $12 into $8. 6 SPACECRAFT (4) showed his liking for this track when he led throughout to win over 1500m here last start. Should again be able to lead and will take catching again as he drops 2kg on that win. BLACKIE (8) will be suited by the step up to 1600m and should be suited by the tempo. UNDER THE EIFFEL (1) easily won the Swan Hill Cup last start and is always a chance in this class. HAWKS BAY (2) battled on with big weight at Flemington last week. FULL HAND (12) has ability. SUGGESTED BET: Spacecraft each-way. TAB FIXED ODDS MARKET MOVERS: Spacecraft $6 into $5; Testascana $17 into $14. 7 GIG (9) flies fresh. Was unlucky this track/distance first-up last campaign when placed behind It Is Written here. With 54kg, he looks well placed in this. Canberra mare CAPROSSA (8) has a great strike rate and the stable has a good record when she comes to Melbourne. SERENE STAR (1) has finished well at Flemington at her past two starts and returns to her own sex. BONNIE MAC (2) is a classy mare on her day resuming. DRAW FORWARD (4) finished strongly to win here last start. Tassie mare BLACK 'N' TOUGH (3) has won nine of 15, so must be respected. SUGGESTED BET: Gig each-way. TAB FIXED ODDS MARKET MOVERS: Nil. 8 CORVIDAE (5) is building to a win. Ran on well last start when second in the Golden Topaz. HENWOOD (11) is a horse with potential. Resumed with an impressive all-the-way win at Bendigo last start. SIR FERNANDO (6) is a smart sprinter resuming and has won two of three starts here, but has to contend with a wide draw. TACKLEBERRY (9) is racing consistently. Interesting runner is former smart Singapore sprinter/miler CLEAR FOR ACTION (2) now with Jim Conlan. ALPHA PROXIMA (1) and POITIER (13) have claims. SUGGESTED BET: Corvidae each-way. TAB FIXED ODDS MARKET MOVERS: Corvidae $9 into $6. MICHAEL MANLEY'S TIPS BEST BET: MR O'CEIRIN (R5 No.1) QUADDIE: 1/1, 2, 4, 7, 8/1, 2, 34, 6, 8, 9/1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13. Cost: $100 for 28.57 per cent. BEST VALUE: GIG (R7 No.9) BIG 6: 1, 9/2, 6/1/1, 4, 8/1, 2, 8, 9/5, 6, 9,11/1,2,5,6,7,9,10,11,12,13. Cost: $100 for 20.83 per cent. NICK'S MULTI
